Upon their return, a U.S. military aircraft, a C-17 Globemaster, landed in Amritsar carrying the deported individuals, who hailed from various states. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar confirmed in Parliament that deportation procedures require restraints be used on detainees, although women and children are exempted from such measures, as per protocols established by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
