Jackie Shroyer, who was arrested in October in Angola for the alleged murder of her husband, Beau Shroyer, has been formally charged as a co-author of his death. Beau, previously a pastor at Lakes Area Vineyard Church in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, was noted in an update by Lead Pastor Troy Easton on February 24. Easton conveyed the unfortunate news, stating, “It saddens me immensely to have to share… that Jackie has been formally charged as a co-author in the murder of her husband.”

Three years prior to the incident, the Shroyers, along with their five children, relocated to Angola, where they collaborated with the mission organization SIM USA. Their mission work included vocational training, English language instruction for youth, and the establishment of a youth ministry center. The couple had openly shared their Christian faith and expressed their eagerness about engaging in missionary work internationally.

Pastor Easton expressed his despair when he learned of Beau’s death due to what was described as a “violent, criminal attack,” stating, “I am heartbroken and in shock… as we have learned that [Jackie] has been arrested in connection with [Beau’s] death.” The case took a more shocking turn when reports surfaced of two suspects, aged 23 and 24, who had been arrested. The men, previously employed as security guard and housekeeper for the Shroyer family, were implicated in the crime.

A lead investigator indicated suspicions of a romantic involvement between Jackie and one of the suspects, suggesting she may have enlisted their help in her husband’s murder for a sum of $50,000. Allegations claim that Beau was stabbed to death with a knife he had previously given to one of the accused.
