After enduring nearly two weeks of persistent rain and humid conditions due to a cold air mass and westerly winds that have prevailed since February 16, the meteorological system is expected to weaken, paving the way for warmer and drier days ahead.

From Friday through Monday, residents of northern provinces, including Hanoi, can expect predominantly sunny and dry conditions, with the possibility of light drizzle and morning mist. The capital is projected to experience temperatures reaching up to 28 degrees Celsius, whereas regions like Dien Bien and Son La may see highs ranging from 29 to 31 degrees Celsius. This respite from damp weather is particularly beneficial for residents who have been struggling with prolonged humidity, enabling them to air out clothes and household items.

Nevertheless, meteorologists caution that a new wave of rain is anticipated around March 4 and 5. While this upcoming sunny period is encouraging, it is important to note that March and April generally feature intermittent drizzle, mist, and elevated humidity levels, as stated by Nguyen Van Huong, head of the forecasting department at the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting. Historically, the region experiences 7-10 days of drizzle in March and 4-6 days in April.
