The Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar is set to make its global racing debut at the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) season opener in Qatar on February 25, 2025. It represents a significant moment for Aston Martin, as the only road-derived hypercar competing in both the WEC and the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. The Valkyrie blends race-optimized engineering with a powerful V12 engine and will aim to contend for overall victory in prestigious races like the 24 Hours of Le Mans, a triumph they last achieved in 1959.
The driving squad for the Valkyrie campaign features a mix of seasoned professionals and emerging talent. The 007 Valkyrie will showcase an all-British pair, including the accomplished Harry Tincknell and young talent Tom Gamble. Additionally, Ross Gunn will join them for endurance races. The sister 009 Valkyrie will feature Marco Sørensen along with experienced driver Alex Riberas and 2022 IMSA GTD Champion Roman De Angelis for long-distance events, including Le Mans.
