Bishop Miabesue Bibi Recovers After Serious Accident in Cameroon

Bishop Michael Miabesue Bibi of the Catholic Diocese of Buea in Cameroon is currently in stable condition following a serious accident on February 28, 2025. According to Fr. Michael Kengnjoh, Chancellor of the Diocese, Bishop Bibi was injured while traveling with a journalist and a driver to participate in the Consecration of Bishop-elect Justin Georges Ebengue of the Catholic Diocese of Yokadouma.
Despite sustaining injuries, Bishop Bibi attended the Consecration ceremony on March 1 after undergoing a brief medical examination. Fr. Kengnjoh detailed that the vehicle in which they were traveling overturned twice before regaining stability, emphasizing the severity of the incident.
Fr. Kengnjoh stated that after the Consecration Mass, the Bishop, along with his driver and the journalist, proceeded to Yaoundé for additional medical care. This indicates that while they faced a traumatic event, the Bishop and his companions were assessed and deemed able to continue to their next destination.
