The unidentified officer escalated the situation by picking up his rifle and discharging it recklessly, resulting in the death of Sani, a resident from the Angwan-Kaje area of Chanchaga Local Government.

Witness accounts reveal that the officer targeted additional civilians, nearly shooting another individual who managed to escape in time. One eyewitness characterized the scenario as particularly tragic, indicating that Sani was struck while he was asleep. Additional threats were directed towards another local known as Mai Shayi, who was fortunate enough to evade injury while fleeing the scene.
