Minnesota Woman Charged with Husband’s Murder During Angola Mission Trip
A Minnesota woman, Jackie Shroyer, has been charged with the murder of her husband, Beau Shroyer, during a Christian mission trip in Angola. The couple’s church confirmed her involvement, while investigations revealed a murder-for-hire plot with multiple suspects. The couple’s children are now safe in the U.S.
A woman from Minnesota has been charged with the murder of her husband during a Christian mission trip to Angola. The incident occurred last year, and the couple, Jackie and Beau Shroyer, were accompanied by their five children. Beau Shroyer, aged 44, was discovered deceased in a vehicle in Thienjo, Angola, in October, prompting investigations and subsequent charges against his wife for allegedly orchestrating a murder-for-hire scheme.
The couple’s church, the Lakes Area Vineyard Church, confirmed Jackie Shroyer’s involvement, describing her as a co-author of her husband’s murder. Lead pastor Troy M. Eason expressed sorrow over the situation, stating he struggled to find words to convey his disbelief regarding the allegations. Following her arrest in November, it was revealed that both the FBI and the State Department were informed about the case.
In addition to Jackie Shroyer, two other suspects have been apprehended in connection with the murder: Bernadino Isaac Elisa, a security guard, and Isalino Musselenga Kayoo, identified as the so-called “mastermind” behind the plot. Another suspect, Gelson Guerreiro Ramos, remains at large. Meanwhile, the Shroyer children, aged 9 to 17, are now safe in the United States, receiving care from SIM USA and their church.
Investigations indicated a possible motive related to a romantic relationship between Jackie Shroyer and one of her accomplices. Authorities discovered a knife, allegedly used in the murder, alongside a significant sum of money at the crime scene. Further reports suggest concerns regarding Jackie Shroyer’s reluctance to leave Angola at the end of the mission could have influenced the crime.
Beau Shroyer was remembered fondly as a student resource officer, known as “Officer Nice Guy,” who devoted his life to serving the community and providing assistance to families in Africa. Jackie posted frequently about their experiences in Angola on social media, leading up to the tragic event.
In summary, Jackie Shroyer faces serious charges for her alleged involvement in her husband Beau Shroyer’s murder while on a missionary trip to Angola. The case has drawn significant attention due to the family’s background in the church and the involvement of multiple suspects. As investigations continue, the tragic circumstances have left the couple’s children in the care of their church and related organizations.
