Two individuals have been sentenced to six months in prison for conspiracy and theft after stealing faulty car parts valued at GH¢17,500 in Bogoso. The Tarkwa District Court found Robert Cudjoe, a 19-year-old tricycle rider, and Isaac Aidoo, an 18-year-old small-scale miner, guilty of the charges, leading to three months of hard labor for each convict.

The prosecution, led by Police Sergeant Enoch Assan-Donkoh, explained that Christopher Dorglo, the complainant and auto mechanic, had stored various faulty vehicle parts at his workshop. Alongside Cudjoe and Aidoo, a third accomplice, Emma, who is currently at large, had plotted to steal these parts and sell them for scrap.

On October 25, 2024, the trio executed their theft under cover of night. In addition to the vehicle parts, they also stole a defective battery and damaged air conditioning tanks, hiding the items behind a building along the Bogoso-Samahu road.

When Aidoo attempted to transport the stolen goods using a commercial tricycle, a witness named Eric Wilson intervened, prompting Aidoo and Emma to flee. However, Cudjoe and the tricycle rider, Paul Balungo, were detained and turned over to the police. Later, Aidoo confessed to the theft, implicating Cudjoe and Emma as his accomplices. Law enforcement is actively pursuing Emma to ensure she faces justice.
