Tata Motors has officially launched its electric vehicle (EV) lineup in Mauritius in collaboration with Allied Motors, the leading automobile distributor in the country. Yash Khandelwal, the Head of International Business at Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, emphasized the strategic importance of Mauritius in Tata’s global EV ambitions. He noted that the company’s successful track record in India and other SAARC markets equips it to assist Mauritius in its electric mobility journey, leveraging a diverse range of EV offerings and a strong partnership with Allied Motors.
James Ngan, Managing Director of Allied Motors, described this collaboration as a transformative step for Mauritius’ automotive landscape. He pointed out that the TATA.ev range blends performance, efficiency, and advanced technology, ensuring comprehensive after-sales support. Ngan expressed his assurance that these vehicles would redefine the transportation experience in Mauritius while providing a seamless ownership journey.
The Tiago.ev is designed as an economical and feature-rich entry-level EV, providing a real-world range of 190-210 km with fast-charging capabilities. The Punch.ev combines SUV practicality with superior features, including a 26.03 cm Harman infotainment system and a range of 270-290 km. The Nexon.ev, as the flagship model, boasts a range of 350-375 km, impressive acceleration to 100 km/h in just 8.9 seconds, and luxurious amenities such as a 360-degree camera and JBL audio system.
All TATA.ev vehicles are supported by an 8-year or 160,000 km battery and motor warranty, supplementary to a 7-year vehicle warranty. Furthermore, customers will benefit from a complimentary 7.2 kW home charging wall box. Allied Motors will deliver robust sales and after-sales support through its network, having staff trained by Tata Motors to uphold high service standards.
