The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee of Pakistan has officially announced the sighting of the Shawwal moon, indicating that Eid ul-Fitr will be celebrated nationwide on Monday, March 31. This declaration was made by Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, who confirmed the receipt of credible moon sighting reports from multiple cities including Islamabad, Lahore, Sheikhupura, and Gujranwala.
During the meeting convened in Islamabad, Maulana Azad led discussions alongside religious scholars, meteorologists, and experts from the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO). The experts had previously indicated that the Shawwal moon was born on Saturday at 3:59 PM and would be sufficiently visible by sunset on Sunday, being over 25 hours old.
