Prior to his arrest, Kuria was reportedly in contact with a relative in Tanzania, coordinating his escape strategy. Investigators managed to intercept communications that led them to him, as they had been monitoring his discussions with other suspects already detained.

Kuria’s arrest occurred at a lodging in Isebania alongside another individual, who has been taken into custody as well. Following their capture, both suspects were swiftly transferred to Nairobi and are expected to appear at the JKIA Law Courts on Monday. With Kuria’s incarceration, the total number of individuals detained for the assassination has now risen to eleven.

The ongoing investigation by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations aims to uncover deeper motives behind the killing. They are analyzing bank transactions and communications between suspects, focusing particularly on connections to politically prominent figures. Businessman and politician Phillip Aroko, along with Lake Basin Development Authority Director Ebel Ochieng, are under scrutiny for potential financial ties to the assassination efforts.
