Chad Reed Takes on Consultant Role at ClubMX, Emphasizes Family Values
Chad Reed has joined ClubMX as a consultant, marking a new phase in his career post-racing. With an impressive background in motocross, he aims to leverage his experience to benefit the facility and its riders while prioritizing family life. Reed’s initial visit with his family led to a deeper commitment to the ClubMX community.
Chad Reed, a renowned figure in the motocross world, has taken on a new role at ClubMX, consulting at the South Carolina facility. With a storied career that includes multiple championships and an impressive list of accolades, Reed’s transition from competitor to consultant marks a significant chapter for both him and the ClubMX community. His tenure in professional racing, particularly with Yamaha, sets the stage for what promises to be an exciting collaboration.
Reed, originally from Australia, boasts one of the most distinguished careers in the sport, highlighted by numerous championship wins and podium finishes. His journey began with early victories, including multiple titles in the Australian scene, ultimately leading him to the United States in 2002. Reed’s resume is studded with remarkable achievements, such as being the winningest Yamaha rider and earning accolades like the AMA Athlete of the Year in 2009, showcasing his enduring competitiveness.
Recently, Reed visited the ClubMX facility with his family, attending a Yamaha BLU CRU camp. Fascinated by the facility’s impressive offerings, he noted the timing felt right for his involvement. “Yamaha has been like a big family to me in my career, so having a chance to give back a bit seemed like a good idea,” he said, highlighting his commitment to nurturing the next generation of motocross talent.
The Reed family enjoyed their initial visit, with each member finding joy in the amenities. Tate played pickleball, Kiah socialized, and Pace found joy in fishing, while Chad and Ellie reveled in their surroundings. The atmosphere at ClubMX prompted them to view it not as a mere facility but rather as a second home, leading to discussions around Reed’s potential long-term engagement.
Brandon Haas, the owner of ClubMX, shared his initial surprise when Reed inquired about staying longer. “Chad asked me what it would look like if he stuck around, and at first, I wasn’t sure what he meant,” Haas recalled. After exploring various ideas, it became clear that Reed was serious about his involvement, recognizing the value he could bring to the ClubMX community.
In his new consulting role, Reed plans to leverage his extensive experience in racing, management, and coaching to aid both the facility and its riders. His focus on providing real-life insights into racing will benefit the pro riders, while his dedication to family remains paramount as they chart their path through amateur motocross.
As he embarks on this new venture, Reed maintains a busy but balanced life. He invites fans to follow his journey on social media, with handles for both himself and his family available on Instagram.
