Shakira Announces Two More Dates in Mexico, Extending Record to 28
Shakira has added two new concert dates in Mexico to her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour, bringing her total to 28 shows. The new dates include a performance in Veracruz, while Mexico City will see multiple shows. Shakira’s tour has garnered significant success, breaking revenue records and solidifying her as a top artist in Latin music.
In an exciting announcement made on June 19, Shakira revealed two additional concert dates for her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour in Mexico. The first concert is set for September 18 at the Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City, while the second will be Shakira’s inaugural performance in Veracruz at the Estadio Luis Pirata Fuente on September 24. With these new shows, she has now reached a remarkable total of 28 performances in Mexico for this tour, further establishing her record for the most concerts in a single tour in the country.
Promoter OCESA highlighted Shakira’s achievement, noting that she has become the artist with the most concerts at the renowned Estadio GNP Seguros. In an enthusiastic social media post, Shakira expressed her gratitude, saying, “My beautiful Mexico! 12 shows at Estadio GNP! Thank you, thank you, and thank you again for continuing to break records with me. See you soon. I love you!” She shared an image of herself holding a recognition plaque from OCESA, a tangible reminder of her historic milestone.
The second leg of her tour kicks off on August 11 at Estadio Caliente in Tijuana. This leg will also include stops in Hermosillo, Chihuahua, and Torreón before concluding back in Mexico City for another series of performances starting August 26. In total, there will be 12 shows at Estadio GNP Seguros, making Shakira the first artist to achieve such a high number of concerts at this venue, which was formerly known as Foro Sol.
As she continues to add shows due to high demand, Shakira is set to match Grupo Firme’s record of eight performances at Estadio GNP Seguros. The band’s eighth show will take place on June 28.
Shakira’s tour has made waves across Latin America, having drawn over a million fans so far. This success also brought her to the forefront of Billboard’s monthly Top Tours ranking, marking her first time at the top position with impressive figures: $32.9 million generated from 282,000 tickets sold in February. Following this, she broke records again in March, earning $70.6 million from just 11 shows— the highest recorded for a single March since Billboard initiated the rankings in 2019.
This year has been particularly significant for Shakira, as she was recently named the No. 1 among Billboard’s Best 50 Female Latin Pop Artists of All Time. Her tour undoubtedly reflects her influence and popularity within the music industry, solidifying her legacy as an artist.
Shakira’s announcement of two more concert dates in Mexico highlights her extraordinary success and popularity.
