According to Industry and Trade Minister Ryad Mezzour, the nation aims to be among the few globally capable of manufacturing electric cars entirely—from the extraction of raw materials to battery production and vehicle assembly. Mezzour emphasized that this goal is not a distant aspiration; the process has already commenced and will accelerate swiftly. Plans are underway to integrate 7,000 electric buses into the national transport system, with an initial order for 1,300 buses already placed.

Morocco is further focused on local production of high-powered electric buses, which currently have a price tag of $180,000 to $200,000 each.
