5.5-Magnitude Earthquake in Nepal Causes Tremors in Bihar Districts
A 5.5-magnitude earthquake struck Nepal on February 28, 2025, causing tremors in several Bihar districts. The epicenter was in Nepal’s Bagmati area, and tremors were mainly observed in Muzaffarpur and other bordering regions. Local officials reported no damage or injuries following the event.

Umesh Kumar Singh, a meteorologist with the Bihar government’s Disaster Management Department (DMD), confirmed the event. He stated that although the tremors were felt across various Bihar districts, including Siwan, Patna, Gopalganj, Saran, and both West and East Champaran, there have been no reports of any property damage or casualties resulting from the earthquake.
Overall, the earthquake prompted concerns due to the impact of similar past events in the region. However, officials reassured the public that no immediate dangers were reported as a consequence of this tremor.
