Pleasant Weather Anticipated for Ramadan in Egypt before Cool Down
Meteorologists report warm weather in Egypt prior to Ramadan, starting March 1. Pleasant conditions expected until Tuesday, followed by a slight temperature drop. The moderate weather is suitable for fasting, enhancing the spirit of Ramadan celebrations.
Cairo, February 28, 2025: Egyptian meteorologists are forecasting a warm spell across the nation in anticipation of Ramadan, which begins this Saturday. The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) reports that most regions will experience pleasant weather until Tuesday. However, a cooling down is expected starting Wednesday, with temperatures falling by 2-4 degrees Celsius.
During this period, residents in Greater Cairo, the Nile Delta, the North Coast, and northern Upper Egypt can enjoy favorable temperatures. Southern Upper Egypt and South Sinai, which includes the beautiful resort of Sharm El Sheikh, will experience even warmer conditions. Light rain may occur along the North Coast on Saturday, affecting cities such as Alexandria and Matrouh.
In Cairo and the Nile Delta, daytime temperatures should reach highs of approximately 22°C, with nighttime lows around 13°C until Tuesday. The North Coast will see highs of about 21°C, with lows ranging from 11 to 13°C. Upper Egypt’s temperatures are projected between 22 and 26°C, where northern areas will experience lows around 10 to 12°C and southern regions will enjoy highs of 26 to 30°C.
The weather during Ramadan can significantly impact fasting individuals, as hotter days can exacerbate thirst and cooler conditions may intensify hunger. Thus, the current moderate temperatures are deemed ideal for the month of Ramadan. The holy month is anticipated to commence in Egypt on March 1, characterized by the festive atmosphere of Ramadan lanterns and communal celebrations.
Additionally, Dar Al-Ifta, the official authority responsible for announcing religious fatawa, will observe the crescent moon to confirm the beginning of Ramadan after sunset today.
In summary, Egypt is set to enjoy a pleasant warm spell ahead of Ramadan, with favorable weather expected until Tuesday. A slight drop in temperatures is anticipated mid-week, but the current conditions provide a perfect environment for fasting. With Ramadan commencing on March 1, the atmosphere is filled with anticipation and joy as people prepare to celebrate this blessed month.
