Fuel Price Increases Announced for March 25, 2025
On March 25, 2025, motorists will see an increase in fuel prices, with gasoline rising by P1.10 per liter and diesel and kerosene by P0.40. Cleanfuel will adjust its prices, excluding kerosene. The changes are a result of market conditions, including increased consumption and geopolitical tensions.
Motorists are set to experience an increase in fuel costs this week, as several companies announced price hikes following three consecutive weeks of price reductions. On Monday, Chevron Philippines Inc. (Caltex), Seaoil Philippines Corp., and Shell Pilipinas Corp. revealed that they would raise gasoline prices by P1.10 per liter, while diesel and kerosene prices will increase by P0.40 each.
Cleanfuel will also implement identical price adjustments, although it does not sell kerosene. These changes will take effect at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, March 25, except for Cleanfuel, which will effect the increase at 4:01 p.m. on the same day. As of the time of this announcement, other firms have not yet disclosed their pricing changes for the week.
The Department of Energy-Oil Industry Management Bureau (DOE-OIMB) has previously indicated that upward price adjustments were likely this week. This projection is attributed to escalating tensions in the Middle East, increased fuel consumption following fiscal stimulus measures released by Beijing, and a decrease in US fuel inventories. Last week, firms had rolled back diesel prices by P0.20 per liter and kerosene prices by P0.40, while gasoline prices remained stable.
In summary, motorists will encounter higher fuel prices starting March 25, 2025, after three weeks of price reductions. The increases affect gasoline, diesel, and kerosene prices, enacted by multiple fuel firms in response to various market factors, including geopolitical tensions and consumption trends. Consumers should stay informed about further announcements from other fuel providers regarding price adjustments.
