Kenyan Officer Missing Following Gang Attack in Haiti
A Kenyan officer deployed in Haiti is missing after a gang ambush during a rescue mission. Two MSS vehicles encountered difficulties, leading to an attack. The incident reflects the increasing security threats against the MSS in Haiti, with prior incidents involving serious casualties among officers.
A Kenyan police officer remains missing after a gang ambush in Haiti, as confirmed by Multinational Security Support (MSS) spokesperson Jack Ombaka. The incident occurred on March 26 in the Artibonite Department when a Haitian National Police armored vehicle, while patrolling along the Carrefour Paye-Savien route, became immobilized in a ditch, allegedly dug by gangs.
This incident highlights the escalating dangers faced by the Kenyan-led MSS mission in Haiti. With ongoing efforts to locate the missing officer, there remains an urgent need to address the violent activities posed by criminal gangs in the region.
