The Bangladeshi embassy in Moscow acknowledged receiving requests from about a dozen families. These families allege that their sons were promised jobs in Cyprus after registering with a recruiting agency, only to find themselves coerced into military service in Russia. One distressed individual, Mohammad Akram Hossain, recounted the unfortunate trajectory of events, stating, “We had no idea we’d end up on the battlefield.”

The situation highlights a serious concern regarding the recruitment practices targeting young Bangladeshis.
